Drawings
Drawing is a form of visual art in which a person uses various drawing instruments to mark paper or another two-dimensional medium. It remains one of the most fundamental forms of artistic expression. Although drawing has been used to express ones thoughts since the time of cave men, it is really the Italian Renaissance which really heralded the importance of drawing in art. Artist and historian Georgio Vasari, in his "Lives of the Artists" , described drawing to be one of the most fundamental forms of artistic expression. Artists can use a variety of mediums, from pencil and ink, to charcoal and pastel, to create their drawings.
