Artist in Residence 2012
In 2012 we welcomed Harriet Piercy as our Artist in Residence. She was selected from recent graduates for the City & Guilds of London Art School.
Piercy was selected as winner after an interview by a panel of judges comprising: Richard Cork (art critic), Heather Mayfield (Deputy Director of the Science Museum), Linda Blackstone (art dealer) and Lucy Russell (Director, Works on Paper Fair). The panel were very impressed by the drawing Harriet submitted, entitled "Locomotive" which was drawn from observation within the Science Museum. Her sketchbooks which she brought along to support her application, revealed not only her great talent, but her outstanding ability to capture all she observes in her drawings. The 2013 residency project with City & Guilds of London Art School followed the Fair's successful collaboration in 2011 with the Prince's Drawing School, when the residency was awarded to Leonie Lachlan. |
